Hot Ice is a young fresh new rapper on the scene
bustling with energy, lyrical prowess, a smooth flow, splendid delivery
and a surprisingly baritone voice that just seal the deal and makes the
whole package work.

His second official single from his album tittled “U Send Me”
is an interesting display of what Hot Ice has to offer and the
production uses sampling techniques that enrich the Hip-Hop in the song.
I cant wait to hear more from him. What do you think? Enjoy!
http://www.hulkshare.com/7uji71wewsrw
El'rufai Accuses President Jonathan of Partnering With Boko Haram

Controversial
Former minister of the FCT, Malam Nasir El'rufai has accused the
President of being in partnership with Boko Haram. He made the
allegation today on his twitter profile (see tweet below).

This will not be the first time that Malam El'rufai will accuse the government of being in partnership with Boko Haram.

In
an interview in January with the Sun Newspapers entitled 'BOKO HARAM,
[LINK=/news/boko-haram-nigerians-made-a-mistake-not-electing-buhari-el-rufai]Nigerians
made a mistake not electing Buhari – El-Rufai[/LINK]', the
controversial former minister said "According to the former
Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, “there are forces
within the government and outside the government collaborating to throw
this country into crisis. I do not believe that some of these things in
the name of Boko Haram and so on and so forth are (done by) Boko Haram.
Nobody knows really whether Boko Haram is from the North or from
anywhere. Nobody knows for sure, because their leaders were killed. Now,
anybody can come to my house and plant bomb and say it is Boko Haram, A
few days ago, I saw on the internet pictures of some people covering
their faces, wearing jeans and saying they are Boko Haram; that
Southerners should leave the North. I am sure that those people are not
Boko Haram. Boko Haram people don’t wear jeans. They wear kaftan… I
believe that beyond Boko Haram, which is a metaphor for dissatisfaction
with the state, there is something going on.”

But interestingly,
the same El'rufai who accused the President of collaborating with Boko
Haram had also few months back, asked the same President to dialogue
with Boko Haram

http://www.naijapundit.com/news/el-rufai-accuses-president-jonathan-of-partnering-with-boko-haram

Tuface Idibia On Why He Proposed To Annie Macaulay

Groom-to-be 2face Idibia tackles all (well, almost
all) the nagging questions on his recent proposal to Annie Macaulay, his
current relationship with Pero Adeniyi and Sunmbo Ajaba, and their
upcoming wedding…

Of your three ‘baby mamas’, why Annie?

That’s where my heart led me to.

Why Valentine’s Day?

That’s when it happened. It just so happened to be the time I felt the need to make that move.

Considering
that you have known her for such a long time and what has happened with
you with the women and the children, when did you decide to make the
move?

It was part of my New Year resolution to follow my heart this year.

How did the thought come into your mind?

Like
any other thought about something important. You start feeling the need
to do something or go somewhere different from deep within. Then you
just make your move one time. No shaking.

When do you plan to tie the knot?

We will let you know soon enough.

Why did it take you so long to finally make this decision?

I
needed to get there, you know, reach the point wey e be say, gbagam!
My mind, heart and everything dey ready. The timing for marriage should
not be determined by any outside influence my guy. If you are not ready
for it don’t commit to it because some people think you should.

Were you nervous before you popped the question?

Yes I was but I was sure of what I was doing.

What if she had turned down the offer?

Wow! I would have asked again.

Can you really be a one-woman man?

Na the journey I don start so now, abi?

What will change now that you are about to get married?

Everything that needs to change.

What is your relationship with the other mothers of your children?

Same at it has been all the while. Cordial mostly. I’ve still got respect for them because we have kids together.

Do you know their reaction to this decision?

I
know it may be difficult if any one happens to still be attached
emotionally but I can only hope they understand that that’s where my
heart is.

Other women have been associated with you in the
past five years. Pero, as a matter of fact, is expecting a third child
for you soon. One would have expected that the woman with three children
would be your option. Not that you owe it anyone, but can you explain
the reason for your choice?

Wow! And someone else would say
it should have been the mother of my eldest child. Another person will
even argue that it should be the lady that has been with me for the
longest time. These are matters of the heart. They can’t always be
analysed like that. Sometimes you no fit analyse am at all sef.

Being that you had three women to choose from, at least seemingly, what it is about Annie that decided it for you?

My mind, my body, my soul, my heart chose her.

Now that you have decided to settle down with your ‘True love’, your ‘African Queen’, how will this affect your song writing?

It will add more inspiration.

Your next album drops very soon. Any chances of an ‘African queen II’ to celebrate your fiancée?

Yes o!

Who will perform at your wedding?

Certainly not me. A couple of my colleagues definitely.

http://www.thenetng.com/2012/02/20/2face-idibia-exclusive-my-heart-chose-annie-macaulay/

9ice goes back to school, eyes politics come 2015.

Abolore Akande, popularly known as 9ice, has declared
that his eyes are fixed on a seat at the House of Representatives in
the next election.

He
announced his intention to contest for the House of Representatives in
2015 but did not mention the state or political party under which he
would contest.

However, his fans believe that the
multi-award-winning musician may contest either in Lagos or Oyo state,
his original state. He is from Ogbomoso in Oyo state.

9ice, who
is just making up with his estranged wife, Toni Payne, disclosed on a
television programme, ‘Artiste of the Week’ at the weekend that he is
looking at 2015, because he plans to obtain a degree in Law before
contesting.

9ice, who does not currently have a university
degree, said as part of his plans, he is currently taking an online
course in Public Administration at the Minneapolis-based Capella
University.

“You know in Naija (Nigeria) they believe if you
don’t go to school, you can’t govern, you can’t lead, so it has become a
barrier.

“In this era you have to be educated. Politics has been in me since I was young,” 9ice said.

When
asked about his relationship with estranged wife Toni Payne, he said
although they were separated, “she is still my legal wife.”

Years back 9ice had said that he used funds meant to purchase his JAMB form to book studio sessions.

 http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/02/20/9ice-for-house-of-reps/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PmNewsNigeria+%28PM+News+Nigeria%29
Nice move 9ice as per the back to school stuff, but seriously, why politics? Is music no longer paying the money?

Dbanj's Interview On Why He Didnt Occupy Nigeria & Others Issues

For the first time a Nigeria celebrity has been humbled in an interview !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anchored by Chika Odua, below are extracts from the interview:

Chika: Did you ever dream of being this big in music?

D’banj: I dreamt about this…(Jokes: I’ve a dream!) God is using us to take our message across from Africa to here.

Chika: You are the face of African Pop music don’t you feel a lot of pressure?

D’banj: Yes a lot of pressure but I have nothing to be scared of. I have much responsibility.

Chika: There are rumors that you are dating Genevieve Nnaji how true is that?

D’banj: No! We are not dating.

Chika: What is your status?

D’banj: I’m very single. I like Rihanna, I’m interested in her.

Chika: Will you Americanize your music now that you are working mostly in America…, (D’banj cuts in)

D’banj: What do you mean by Americanize?

Chika: I mean you use a lot of pidgin and yoruba in your music will you still do that?

D’banj:
Yes I’ll, did you hear scapegoat? fall in love or oliver twist? I do
music depending on the message and who I want it to suite.

Chika: So will you maintain the identity?

D’banj: I think American music is universal so I’ve a lot of work to do.

Chika:
Ok, now on your interview with the President of Nigeria, there are
talks that you collected money from him to sing and interview him.

D’banj:
I didn’t collect money from the President. It wasn’t an interview it
was a request, watch the interview I asked the President and I can
remember the statements “What are your plans for the Nigerian youth?”
because I dedicated a track to him so I wanted the people to know why I
said I was going to vote for him, I wanted them to know his plans.

Chika:
We understand you run a foundation and you were appointed as the United
Nations youth ambassador for peace, with your position what are your
responsibilities and what have you done with you position?

D’banj: I have much responsibility. I represent Africa, I represent Nigeria…do your research.

Chika: What was your take on the Occupy Nigeria and the fuel subsidy removal?

D’banj: 1st of all, lets take a minute silence for those who lost their lives during this period

Chika: Ok D’banj we really appreciate that, so carry on.

D’banj: I did not know anything that was happening [in Nigeria during protests] because I was working on my album in the UK.

Chika: But there was a protest in London why didn’t you participate?

D’banj:
I didn’t know anything that was happening in London about the feul
protest because I was working… I am not a politician! And everyone that
knows me well knows I don’t like cold, so I couldn’t go outside.

Chika: So what do you have to say?

D’banj: I don’t have anything to say, I wasn’t in the country when it was happening.

Chika: But I wasn’t in the country also.

D’banj:
I’ve told you I don’t want to say anything about that topic, I don’t
say what I don’t know anything about, If you know me very well I speak
about what I know. I will not speak on something that I don’t know
about. You will not get me to speak about what I don’t know. I wish my
publicist told me that this was a political interview… (Chika cuts in)

Chika: So who operates your twitter handle?

D’banj: I operate it but I’m not always online, I’m on twitter when I want to pass an information not when you want me to.

Chika: There has been increase in poverty in Nigeria what do you have to say about this?

D’banj:
Yes I know, but poverty has always been in Nigeria. Let us focus on
what we have, why are you hammering on negativity? I’ll speak from the
angle that I know well which is the entertainment, that is what I know
we can export, we should invest our talents to escape from poverty. I’ve
a concert tomorrow, I need to practice and prepare well so I can
represent Africa well.

Chika: Thank you very much D’banj. We appreciate the time you spent with us, we wish you all the best in your concert tomorrow.

Well that was gist of the discussion with the KokoMaster.
Oops Dbanj, really you should have occupied.

Boko Haram Attacks Kogi Prison•kills Guard, Sets Members Free

In a 30-minute operation, Boko Haram yesterday raided the Koton-Karfi
Prison in Kogi State, killing a security man and set members free.
The detained top shot of the sect, Abul Qaqa, is an Igala man from Kogi State.

It
was the first time the dreaded Islamist sect would attack the North
West state, even as the group and the Joint Task Force (JTF) were
engaged in an hour gun battle in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Also
yesterday, the State Security Service (SSS) declared an ex-soldier
wanted in connection with the Christmas Day bombing at St. Theresa’s
Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State.

But in Kogi last night,
the sect members stormed the prison at about 7p.m without any signal of
the impending attack. Sources disclosed that they stormed the prison
immediately after Magrib prayer. On arrival, the group opened fire on
one of the securitymen at the gate and killed him on the spot. The
source noted that the main gate of the prison was bombed by the sect’s
members, numbering over 20.

Immediately they entered the
premises, they shot sporadically to chase other prison officers away as
they freed some of their suspected members. Other prisoners took
advantage of the invasion and escaped immediately the attack was over.
The source said the residents scampered for safety during the shooting.
Meanwhile, residents of Maiduguri were forced to return home in time
yesterday even before the curfew time as soldiers and Boko Haram members
engaged in a fierce gun battle for about an hour. The Boko Haram men
had ambushed some soldiers deployed in Gwange, the sect’s flash-point,
at about 5p.m yesterday, leading to the death of one of the soldiers.
Angered
by the incessant killings of its men, the JTF hurriedly dispatched
about five patrol vehicles and armoured tank to the area.

The
popular Lagos Street was immediately condoned off as soldiers took over
the entire road stretching to about two kilometres and leading to major
federal institutions; the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) and its
teaching hospital (UMTH). A resident of Gwange told Daily Sun on phone
that the soldiers chased the Boko Haram men into an area and started
shooting, claiming many people died in the gun battle.

“I think
the Boko Haram killed one of their men and another one was injured. So
when they came there, they started shooting, breaking peoples’ houses
and blocking all the roads in the area. Some people were hit by stray
bullets, but I can’t tell you the number of deaths now or casualties
because everywhere is dark, I’m just lying down in my house now,” the
resident disclosed.

There was no official account of the
incident from the JTF at Press time as the Field Operation Officer, Col.
Victor Ebhaleme, did not respond to calls to his phone while that of
the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Lt-Col. Hassan Mohammed, was
switched off. But yesterday, the SSS declared an ex-soldier, Habibu
Bama, wanted over the Madalla bombing, which killed about 45
parishioners. Bama, according to a statement signed by the Deputy
Director, Public Relations of the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, is wanted in
connection with ‘crime against the state’.
The terse statement, which
did not give further details, said that the wanted ex-soldier, was a
Kanuri. He hailed from Borno State.

“He is hereby declared wanted by the Federal Government in connection with crimes against the state.
“Members
of the public with any information that could lead to his arrest are
hereby implored to immediately contact the nearest police station,
military formations or other security agencies,” the statement read in
parts.
The SSS said that Bama was known by other names such as ‘Habib Bama’, ‘Shuaibu Bama’, and ‘Habib Mamman.’

Daily
Sun findings, however, revealed that Bama’s offence was not unconnected
with Boko Haram insurgence, especially the Christmas Day bombing at St.
Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State. It was gathered that
arrested principal members of the sect, who were in SSS’s custody have
been co-operating and giving useful hints about their operations and key
members of the group. Yesterday’s declaration by the SSS came barely
six days after the alleged mastermind of Madalla bombing, Kabiru Sokoto,
was rearrested by the security service.

http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2012/feb/16/national-16-02-2012-001.html
